At the age of 5 she stood on the stage for the first time — the stage of the Berlin Metropol Theater as it were. 10 years later she started to play cabaret at the youth studio of the Berlin cabaret "Die Distel”. After passing the Bühnenreifeprüfung (the exams to become a graduated actress) she was engaged at Brecht’s Berliner Ensemble for the next 20 years. She played a part in approx. 100 television films and movies and in over 500 radio plays.

Due to the fact that some of the TV series she played in attained a fame verging on the edge of "cult status” Franziska Troegner enjoys great popularity. Since 1996 she guests with solo evenings, and in 2001 she was nominated for the German movie award (Deutscher Filmpreis). 2004 she played for the first time with an international star cast in the American movie production "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory”.
